Welcome to Tutorials by Vaybs
Here you find all my tag tutorials using Paint Shop Pro (I use PSPX) and Animation Shop 3.
They're all made with FTU elements ;) And if I'm doing my job right you might pick up a few new ideas and tricks on the way.
All links open in a new window;)
Layout tag is made with my Betsys Paradise Dream kit ;)
Have fun!!

Grungy Forum Set

Tutorial is made in PSP10 and Animation Shop 3

Supplies

My supplies made for the tut HERE

Licensed artist work is by Ismael Rac

Fonts in use are GFY Otep and Lucida Bright

Let's start

Open the grungy siggy texture, select all, add 3 raster layers above
Selections-modify-select selection borders; inside, 6.
Flood fill the top layer black, deselect.
Select all again, Selections-modify-select selection borders; inside, 10.
Flood fill the middle layer a dark blue from the texture, I've used #051c5a.
Deselect and select all again, Selections-modify-select selection borders; inside, 14.
Flood fill the 3rd layer black, deselect.

Use the Rectangle tool, Small Dash line style, width 1, foreground color #5586f6,
no background. Draw a small dash square on the middle of the outer black frame.
Doesn't matter if you don't get it placed right when you drag it out, just use
Objects - align - center in canvas.
I had some trouble with it getting blury, if so, instead of aligning, convert
to raster layer, then copy and paste as a new layer, to center it, and just
delete the original below.

Add your 3 tubes of choise and place them to your liking below the frames,
change blend mode to Screen, or play around to find another mode you like ;))

Add the wordart and place it just below the frame on top.
Use the Rectangle Tool on Solid line style, width: 2, foreground: Black, background: #051c5a
Draw a rectangle along the top  of the frame, convert to raster layer and place it nicely to fit
the wordart as you can see from mine, when you're happy with it, change blend mode to Hard Light,
duplicate and flip it.

Place the © at the bottom one and add the name you want ;)

Over to the Avatar

It's mostly the same to do ;)

Open the grungy avatar texture, select all, add 3 raster layers above
Selections-modify-select selection borders; inside, 4.
Flood fill the top layer black, deselect.
Select all again, Selections-modify-select selection borders; inside, 6.
Flood fill the middle layer a dark blue from the texture, I've used #051c5a.
Deselect and select all again, Selections-modify-select selection borders; inside, 9.
Flood fill the 3rd layer black, deselect.

Use the Rectangle tool again on, Small Dash line style, width 1, foreground color #5586f6, no background and draw out the same dashed square.

Copy one of the tubes and paste as new layer, move to fit.

Copy the blue banner, duplicate and place one on top and one at the bottom.
Add © on top and make the banner fit.

Add your name at the bottom, for mine I've used the same as in the wordart on the siggy,
Lucida Bright ,size 16, color #5586f6, and change Kerning setting
to get more space between your letters if you have a short name like me ;)

Animation

It's the same for the siggy and the avatar so I'm only explaining it once ;)

If you're like me, you close the name layer before copying so you can add more names
to it ;)

Copy merged, paste as new animation in ani shop,
back in psp mirror the grungy background layer, copy merged again
and in ani shop, paste this one both BEFORE and AFTER the first frame.

Right click on the first frame and chose Insert Image Transition
with these settings

On the 6th frame (the second last one) add the same image transition.

Then you should have 11 frames, delete the last one.
Select all and change frame properties to 35. View animation and save as
Optimized Median Cut.

Now do the same with your Avatar ;)

And you're done

Hope you've had fun.
